NSA evening reception in Jigsaw

Designer clothes store, Jigsaw in Edinburgh was the venue this week for an evening reception held by NSA Scottish Region, the Campaign for Wool and Textiles Scotland. The event was a preview to the display which will be held in the NSA marquee at this year's Royal Highland Show hosting sheep breeds, wool competitions, weaving/spinning/knitting/felting demonstrations and three fashion shows showcasing some of the top quality woollen couture from Scotland.

Speaking on behalf of The Campaign for Wool, Chairman John Thorley praised Jigsaw, which has made the Campaign for Wool an integral part of its marketing strategy. He said: “We look forward to working with Jigsaw in their forty or so UK outlets, as well as in their outlets overseas this Autumn/Winter. Along with a number of other retailers, Jigsaw will also be involved in the Campaign for Wool’s biggest ever single event to promote wool in Central London next March which will focus on the use of wool across interiors, flooring and of course fashion.”

Plans are already in place to take the Campaign to the USA for the first time this Autumn as well as looking at markets such as China and France. Thorley continued: “We shall be at Paris Fashion Week this October and, as this coincides with Wool Week in the UK which begins on Monday 15th October, it is quite clear that the momentum already in place for wool in 2012 and 2013 will be unabated.”

Guest speaker Cat Cubie, now a presenter with BBC’s Landward and a known Scottish fashionista also highlighted the many benefits of wearing wool clothes.
